Acres Group is looking for a FOREMAN to lead our Turf and Plant Healthcare Crew out of our Plainfield, IL location. As one of the largest independent landscape contractors in Northern Illinois, Acres remains a proud family owned company, employing over 750 people during peak season. We are now seeking an individual to lead our Turf and Plant Healthcare Crew. Come join our team!

 

The major objective of the Turf Healthcare Foreman position is to perform ornamental and turf applications in accordance with daily production standards. The THC Foreman will also maintain a positive image for Acres in the field and in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Complete turf and ornamental applications utilizing departmental standard operating procedures.

  • Organize equipment and materials to efficiently complete projects set by your manager during the landscape and snow removal seasons.

  • Coordinate daily activities under changing circumstances as directed by your manager.

  • Assume responsibility for ensuring the overall quality and precision of all work at the job sites, including attending to the details

  • Mix and safely apply chemical according to product label specifications.

  • While applying product to properties, observe and diagnose other needs.  Notify your manager of your observations and of any unusual or drastic changes in properties.

  • Use independent judgment to develop creative solutions to problems that may arise in the course of the workday.

  • Inform the Turf Healthcare Senior Foremen of any customer complaint.  

  • Perform general maintenance and maintains cleanliness and safety of the vehicle and any assigned equipment.

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • Landscape and/or lawn care experience.
  • Horticultural knowledge.
  • Maintain operator's pesticide license.
  • Valid Driver’s License.    CDL Preferred.
  • Able to operate all equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Able to drive to the job site and conduct daily tours and visual inspections of landscapes
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 60 pounds.
